The L-202 is a corridor light notification system for nurse stations. It has two lamps mounted on a double-gang box. The lamps illuminate when the bedside station associated with the light is activated. The translucent wedge-shaped dome covers on these nurse call systems are made in white or red and are easily removable for simple light bulb changes.
Light color can also be changed to amber, yellow, green, red, or blue with additional filters. Different colors have very different meanings; flashing red lights signal emergencies like a fire or tornado, a steady white light signals a patient is requesting assistance, and a green light generally signals a priority call.
